Karen Robinson, BM, MEd, CELTA, RYT500
“With each class I teach, I become more convinced that yoga is a deeply personal journey. It is truly “Yoga for You” – your practice, your time, your exploration; and I always try to impart this philosophy to each student in every class.”
She began her professional career as an educator, and earned a masters degree in education (MEd) and taught elementary, high school, college and adult students. Other professional qualifications include a bachelor of mathematics (BM) and an English language teaching certificate (CELTA).
In the mid 80s, she began to practice yoga. She studied Iyengar yoga for many years, as well as other styles including Sivananda at an ashram in India. Inspired to study more and to become a qualified teacher, she completed an initial teacher training program (200hr) at MokSana Yoga Centre in Victoria in 2004. She has been teaching and studying ever since.
Teachers who have influenced her include: Angela Farmer, Victor van Kooten, Vishvaketu, Brahmani Liebman, Erich Schiffmann, Michael Stone, Mukunda Stiles, and Misha Butot. Of these, Angela and Victor (http://www.angela-victor.com/) have had the most significant impact on her development and teaching. After attending a workshop with them in 2006, she stated:
Karen is a registered yoga teacher and holds a 500hr certificate (RYT500) with more than 1000hr of teaching experience. She continues to study and teach a variety of classes and workshops to all ages and levels in and around Victoria, BC, Canada.

"My time in Greece was wonderful, inspirational, and transformational. I changed, and yoga changed for me. Angela and Victor's approach made all my years of yoga make sense in a new way. Rigidity fell away and was replaced with a new freedom to explore, feel, unfold and undo. As a teacher, I have taken this new found freedom into my classes and use it to guide students into new and freer places of their own making."
